SCREW PILING TECHNOLOGY

Screw piles are a steel “screw-in” system that combines high strength steel and innovative design to achieve strength, durability, ease of installation and predictability of performance.

This “predictability of performance” is a very significant advantage over conventional driven piles and bored piles because our screw pile design calculations are based primarily on the end bearing capacity of the helix and has very little reliance on skin friction for bearing capacity. The helix, with a large surface area, screws down into undisturbed strong soil, which is clearly identified by a correlation of the soil test report with the torque readings registered during the pile installation.

 

Every pile is installed to refusal, regardless of the final piling depth. This effectively ensures that each pile is founded to its design capacity and provides a degree of integrity that is hard to beat.

Uses of SFP Screw Pile Foundation System:

  • Building Foundations – High strength steel screw piles are combined with reinforced concrete pile caps and beams fully integrated into the building design to provide a foundation that is cost efficient, faster to install and durable.

  • Building Slabs – These same screw piles are installed into stronger, deeper soil and strategically integrated into slab design to provide a fully suspended slab unaffected by subsidence or swelling in the surface soil.

  • Power Poles, Streetlights, Pipelines – Single high strength screw piles (for smaller loads) and various combinations of screw piles with reinforced concrete pile cap (for larger loads), are used to provide incredibly fast, cost-efficient installations with minimal disruption to passing traffic and environment.

  • Solar Energy Modules – Specially designed, high strength screw piles to provide foundations for solar modules that are reliable, accurate and extremely fast to install.

  • NO OVERBURDEN – The pile screws into the ground with no soil displacement – vital for work in wet weather conditions.
